Hey All,

I just won a Yamaha CP70B. I would love to keep this thing at my apartment in NYC but I'm worried about the AC. if I keep this thing around 76 degrees in energy saver mode, will I be ruining it? I'm fearful especially because when I walk in I might turn it down to 68-70 or so. I just cant fathom my electric bill if I kept my AC on all summer at 68.

If this is not realistic I can always keep it at my recording facility which has central air. I was just hoping to write with it at home though.

any thoughts?

Hi:

Your CP70B will be fine, as it does not have a soundboard. They hold up quite well.

Take care,

Steve

One problem I have come across on CP70/80s concerns the vinyl covering. There used to be a few of them on the Canberra (P&O cruise liner). The legs and other metal case parts ended up very tarnished and the Vinyl started to peel off. But then again, I suppose salt spray isn't one of those things you get a lot in NYC. (BTW, we ended up taking them to a custom car shop - vinyl roofs used to be trendy in those days \:D )
