Hi all- I have a Sanderson AccuTuner II (SAT) for sale. It was purchased used from Inventronics (and rebuilt by them) in June 2001. It works perfectly; I am selling it because I have replaced it with a VeriTuner 100, and have another SAT already for backup. The price is $950. including shipping in the U.S. Includes manual and charger. 30 day guarantee (same as Inventronics gives on a used one)..........Sam

That's interesting because I had an Accutuner I and tried selling it after I acquired a Verituner also. I wound up eventually just giving it to my rebuilding partner because none of those who called from my ad in the PTG Journal came through.

If you're like me, you probably prefer the Verituner because it relies on more harmonics than the accutuner in addition to such things as the spectrum analyzer and great variety of historical temperaments. It also has the auto step feature which, however, also became a feature in the SAT III

Mark-I bought an SAT III two years ago, but sold it last year in utter frustration because of the note stepper that just wouldnt work. It went back to Sanderson 3 times for that problem. From reading the PTG Bulletin Board, I know that mine wasnt an isolated experience. So I sold it and bought an SAT II (I have another SAT II for backup). I am happy with the SAT II's, and will still be keeping one of them. The VeriTuner, on the other hand, is almost flawless in its ability to find the note. I am just scratching the surface with this new machine, and am looking forward to discovering its capabilities...........Sam

Sam--

About the only drawback I've discovered so far is that the Verituner drains the battery sooner than the accutuner so requires more frequent charging.

The other thing--though this is minor--is that the coarse tuning for pitch raises would be even better if it could measure up to 200 cents like I understand the later models of the Accutuner did. This would be of value in those cases where note pitches are clearly in excess of 100 cents off.

Mark-I've already decided to bring the VT in twice a week to recharge, as opposed to weekly for the SAT. Not a big issue. Havent had to do a pitch raise of that magnitude (-200 cents) with the VT yet, so I cant comment on that. I have a Yamaha GH-1 to tune tomorrow. It has always been a toad of a piano, especially at the 1st break. I'm anxious to see if the VT can tame it........Sam
