Hi Brian,
My tech's normal price is $80 American. I live in a rural area and the going rate is lower for other tuners, but A) my guy is a PTG tech, not "just" a tuner and B) he's the best within at least 150 miles and worth it. When he leaves the piano is "right".

It seems like a tuning costs about $95.00 to $100.00 US in the Northern California area.

Location, location, location. I get $60 for a tuning and do not work every day. I get $70 to $75 when I go out of town. I charge $35/hr in town and $40/hr out of town for any work over 1.5 hours. I live in Roswell NM, a town of 45000 with 5 piano tuners. I would enjoy information reguarding rates from other tuners. Roswell is sort of an Oasis in the Middle of the New Mexico Desert

In Northern Virginia, near Washington, D.C. The cost of a guild tuner is $80 to $100 for tuning. Voicing is $60 or more per hour. Individuals may well charge more, particularly if they are in demand. These are pretty much minimums.

Central New York state (Syracuse) tunings run from a low of $50 to a high of $75. Factors which make the difference here are: Experience, reputation, distance of travel, who the customer is (dealer, schools, churches, private), how many pianos, etc. Mike Kurta, RPT
