Hey, let me recommend one thing to you before you use the McLube 1725L (is that right? I'm to lazy to get up and go look) It's the clear spray one anyway...

1. Shake it up good.

2. After you spray it, let it dry good before you put it back together. I've had a lot better success letting it dry first. I like to blast it dry with the vacuum on blow when I can or, I waft a rag around in circles to dry it. It dries very quickly.

3. Don't spray everything in sight. If I choose to spray it on the key bed, I do NOT spray it on the key frame too. But, I do spray the glide pins on the ends of the action.

4. Clean everything off first including balance rail pins or whatever, if you choose to use it there... Don't just spray it on over the built up gunk on everyting.

5. I love brasso in a can. You tear little pieces of cloth off and wipe the part with it. Let it dry and wipe it off with a clean rag turning it often. It'll shine like a babies butt and be slick as a whistle. It works great for cleaning the capstans, drop screws, pedal rods, key pins and other things like that.

Hey Ron
Just an update for you regarding the advice that I took from you to get some new lubricants. I just got a call from Schaff and the fellow at the Canadian order desk cannot ship these kids of lubricants over the border because they are explosive or flammable. I will have to obtain a special license for this type of shipment and the cost for this is $5000.00! So they would end up being the most expensive lubricants I have ever used. I will have to find a Canadian supplier for these items. So any of our friends here in the Great White North will be left with the same problem………

Your kidding me!!!! No Dan I believe you. I have never read anywhere they are explosive and flammable. Next time I'm tuning one of those crappy ones, I know how to take care of those tight action centers for good......light a match!!!!!!

Good one about the matches Ron, I don’t know about the volatility of these products, I am just going by what the fellow said that works for Schaff.

I have discovered a company in Quebec that sells these products and imports them from Schaff. So I can still obtain them for a trial… thanks again………
