Does any body own this piano? The keys are kind of heavy; are there ways to make it softer?

Yes, there are weights that can be added.

NOOb,

the CN-116 is a yamaha product built in China or Indonesia. Not sure which. Several things to check before playing with key weights. Do the keys need easing? Is the damper spoon timing too early? Are the hammers soft? (Unlikely as it is a Yamaha product.)

Most often these pianos need a thorough key easing before doing anything else.

Capstan polishing and a shot of McLube in addition to Dale's list. All of this is prep work that is often not done on this budget Yamaha. The piano is fine and will come around with a little work.
