I am curious to know how many techs tuned today. Since we are eating late I decided I would squeeze a job in. The first job was at 8:00 to touch up some unisons on a C7 that I had to leave yesterday. No problem. Job # 2 was the Turkey piano. A Samick console with 85 keys. Some slow returners that I ended up pulling the keys on, cleaning, polishing and lubing. Piano was over 70 cents flat. Turns out it was one of those "never been tuned" pianos. Owners bought it when the youngest was 5 or 7- they couldn't remember. She is now in Pharmacy school after graduating 4 years of college. On the good side the strings where Roslau, the pinblock was Delignit and the tuning pins where tight but not snappers. WHen I left I told the owner I would send her a reminder in 6 months. I'll be lucky if I can keep from falling asleep at the dinner table tonight. Worked until 7:30 last night on a Knabe Grand. I must be nuts or dedicated. Pass the turkey!!!

Good lord JimBob, your a busy boy. I tuned a 1922 S&S B today for a concert tomorrow in an historic house. The piano was all 1922, and I don't think it's been touched since. It was an all day affair. Pitch raise, verdegris, broken agraffe in the tenor, and a big headache.

I tuned my body for a hard day at the table by riding 2/3 of the way up Mt. Hamilton on my bicycle yesterday AM. I regulated my body with lots of food and a 4 liter bottle of Chianti from 1999 shared with the rest of my available family.
I did tune a couple of unisons on my own piano.
Today I tune 1. I vowed to give myself 4 days off this weekend. 1 piano doesn't really count as work, does it?

I had Thurs off, but only because we had dinner in Sarasota, a 3 hour drive from here. We drove back from Sarasota this morning so I could install a set of damper felts, bed a key bed, set level, dip and ease a set of keys. Finished that by 7pm. Have to finish the reg and tune it this weekend. I'ts pretty much every day now till xmas. The wife will be doing the x mas shopping by herself once again.
