Hello Tuners and Technicians,

For the last 3 weeks, I have been shopping for a replacement for my 20y old Kawai KG2.
I have tried lots of pianos (for the record, I finally decided on a 1976 Bechstein M), several of which had a Renner action:
2 Estonias (190, and the smaller model), a Pleyel 190, several Schimmel's (182 & 208, not totally sure if it's renner...?), and of course, the Bechstein I've decided to buy. (should be delivered soon, the action was wonderful on that one, renner or not :-)

Now, what I have trouble understanding is that none of those pianos had a -even remotely- similar feel (touch). Do the renner actions in, say, an Estonia, a Pleyel and a Bechstein really have that much in common ? Please enlighten me!

(btw, the best action I tried was that of the Shigeru Kawai's, it's definitely worth a try!)

PhJ,
Think of it three ways. For almost any maker of pianos, Renner can:
-Design the action.
-Assemble the parts.
-Supply unassembled parts.
There are a lot of ways a co. can go wrong and still say "Renner".
