I am Ivan Mihajlović from Bjelovar, Croatia. Could you please explain to me as accurately as you can how to make a detailed stretch tuning table. I have a Peterson Tuner 490 ST, but unfortunately, its 8 stretch tables are not enough for most of the kinds of vertical and grand pianos that I have to tune. Thank you!

Ivan, the small grand stretch is very good for most grands in the home setting. Maybe you should upgrade to the TuneLab Pro, or Sat-lll.

I'm not familiar with the Peterson machine, but I have a Hale Sight-O that I bought years ago to tune Rhodes pianos with. Over the years, I've learned how to incorporate it into my acoustic tuning too, in some ways. At first, I thought it was impossible to get a good tuning with it, because I tried those 'stretch tables' they included and they sounded miserable. I learned that if you use the machine to measure how much greater the temperment octave is than an exact doubling of frequency, divide that amount by twelve and portion it out evenly, you can get an evenly spaced temperment for any piano.
