Can someone comment on the quality of the correspondence tuner courses that are displayed on pianoworld.com? Randy Potter looks very comprehensive and professional. Is it more 'fluff' or is there really more meat behind it than - say - the American School of Piano Tuning, warranting the price being twice as high?

Randy's course is LIGHT YEARS beyond any other Correspondence course. I think His course is under priced and all others are greatly Over priced. Hesitate NO longer. Just Do IT!!!!!!

I began the Potter course in March '01, finished it March '02, and am now out there tuning and servicing pianos, and doing a pretty professional job at it IMHO! I think it's a teriffic program, and the materials that come with it are great: not only the 3"-thick Potter course notebook, but also manufacturer and supply house material, and a set of videotapes with very helpful technical demos. He even talked to me once over the phone for quite a while answering a question. I recommend it without hesitation.

I also like te Randy Potter course. I hve no direct knowledge of it, but know 2 practicing techs. (both part time) that started with it. Please keep in mind that there is no substitution for PRACTICING THE CRAFT!!

There are no short cuts and the best way to learn is "hands on" with another set of experienced hands there with you. Join the local chapter of the PTG and as others said - GO FOR IT!
