I was wondering if it might be worth it to tune my piano.
I know, sounds like a strange question, the obvious answer is, "Of course, you should!"
But here is my situation: my piano is at home in San Diego. I really only go home once a year, in December. So that's really the only time my piano is played with any regularity. This has been the case ever since I left home for graduate school and beyond in 1991.
I had the rare opportunity to go home in July, and I had come to the realisation that my piano is quite out of tune and probably needs some work. My initial thoughts were to save up some money so that when I go back home in December, I could get a piano tuner over to the house while I'm home to work on the piano.
By the way, I don't believe the piano has been tuned for at least 20 years or so. (I don't think my parents really knew any better, and I was just a kid who didn't really know any better either.)
Would it be worth it to call someone over if I'm the only one who plays the piano? Otherwise, it sits quietly in the corner during the time I'm not there.
