I have a 1902(or earlier) Franz Goetz small upright which I am attempting to restore. Does anyone know of a USA source for swinging brass candle sconces (they were used to read the music).
Also, there are two circular marks plus holes on each side of the cabinet. Did some of the older pianos have moving handles or some other attachments on the sides?
I have a source for the sconces in England, but it is difficult to deal with them because of currency exchange, shipping costs, etc. I will appreciate any info or help. I am a DIY type, not a professional technician.
Thanx, Fred Shaughnessy, Tehachapi, CA freds@tminet.com

I suggest that you try to find an old derilict english " BIRDCAGE DAMPER" junk upright. Lots of antique dealers have them. Most of the time they arent worth much but you will find some with pretty passable candle holders attached.
