I'm going to replace my key bushings with felt, but was wondering if anyone has ever used those plastic bushings that they sell in Schaff?

Let's put it this way: I keep about 10 sizes of bushing felt to assure a precision fit in holes which are quite variable. The plastic inserts are "one size fits all". So that gives you about a 1 in 10 chance they will be a good fit.

I consider them to be for quick emergency repairs only.

OTOH, I have never seen a good regular felt bushing job done by a beginner. In some cases the plastic inserts probably would have actually been better.

Regards,

Rick Clark
