I'm planning to get an ETD as a learning tool to help prepare for the RPT tuning exam. It looks to me that based on new prices, the tunelab pro on a pocket PC may be the cheapest route $500-600 including a pocket PC. But I'm not convinced that it would be the best device. I'm certain that the ETD will be used beyond its initial purpose as a training tool.

Currently I note a SAT 1 on ebay currently at less than $300 ... but since it has at least one bid I assume it will go higher. What do you think the value of a SAT 1 is? Would you recommend it for the purpose I've described?

Thanks.

A couple of hundred dollars. The battery has to be getting old. The SAT I has a glitch that leaves the lower treble flat sometimes. Dr Sanderson taught the class and there is a way to calculate the spread number properly.
My Sat I is broke and sits on the shelf. It's outdated according to the people who make them. Soon to be worth pennies..
