industry stats: how many grands?

Hi all! I'm a newbie... wondering if anyone would happen to know how many people own grand pianos in the U.S. ? OR , where can I find out?

Try contacting www.musictrades.com. They have numbers on how many pianos are sold each year.

Not exactly an answer, but according to this http://www.pianoworld.com/facts.htm there are over 10 million pianos in the US. Now if we only knew what percentage of pianos sold are grands, an estimate could be made.
