I recently bought a Treo 600 Palm organizer/cell phone combo. After years of carrying a palm AND a cell phone, it's nice to have just one combination unit to carry around. The phone works independently of the Palm, so I can have a customer on the phone, turn on the scheduler and type in the appointment - or I can open my address book and find them a piano mover or teacher!! Not all phone/organizers let you do that. My business line forwards to my cell, so customers rarely have to leave a message, good for them and me. Smart phones are starting to get a bit cheaper and are available in pocket pc and palm versions.

Too bad it's a palm.

I'll take a Windows based PocketPC over palm any day.

I have my customer list on the Palm part of the Treo - I use "Documents to Go" to sync it to my computer where it resides in spreadsheet format.

Just a note - A Treo 650 will be available soon - more screen resolution, more memory, removable battery, and bluetooth (enables a cheaper wireless headset version). Price??? dunno, Prolly $699 (just my guess).
