Anyone know of or had experience with a Nakamichi grand piano. What little I know is that it's a Young Chang with Abel hammers installed. The one advertised, which I'm thinking of looking at, is a '97.
Any concerns about that year or anything else I should be aware of?
Thanks

I know that they are made by Young Chang in Korea for a private shop in Hamamatsu (a city in Japan with a dozen piano manufacturers). If it says Young Chang on it, it might as well say "Buyer Beware " Who knows? Have it independantly checked inside and out before making any decisions.

Thanks Richard.
I assume from your comment that you are not a fan of Young Chang? Coming from a technician, I'll heed your advice.

You're right, Im not a huge fan Maybe someone else here has something positive to say about Young Changs of the late 90's vintage? Young Chang has been the manufacturer behind several brand names over the years. Some technicians have been claiming YC has been improving at the factory in the past six or seven years, however.

I'll keep looking and hoping for the "great" buy. You know, kinda like finding a Tiffany lamp at a garage sale. What can I say, I'm an optimist!

I seem to remember Nakamichi as a vendor for container loads of grey market Yamaha and Kawai's. They may have created their own stencil to supply "new" pianos to clients.
