Have you discussed the work with your regular technician?

When discussing it with your technician, remember to use periods!

Dont know why, but I just have a feeling this person doesnt have a piano technician. How long since it's been tuned, bach?

If you have a piano technician, I suspect bach would not be here asking this question. I doubt anyone here feels qualified to answer your question, unless somebody lives in your area.

So my recommendation is call one of the places you mention. Or contact someone else who owns a piano, and see who they use. Get recommendations.
Not all tuners can do repairs/action regulation, etc.

Best of luck in your search for a someone who is professional enough.

Ah, okay.

From the PTG website, Max Littlejohns (416-964-8479) offers a wide range of services including rebuilding and touchweight analysis. Damon Groves (303-775-7916) is another RPT listed in Toronto.

Okay, I stand corrected. JD makes a good recommendation. As has been said here on this board, more than once, if a tuner cant do repairs, action regulation, and a host of other tasks; piano owner beware.

There are tuners, and there are Piano Technicians.

Bach,

If your piano is only 4 years old then you should contact the local Kawai dealer. The problem may not be an issue covered under warranty but it may be.
Merriam Music in Mississauga is the largest Kawai dealer in the Toronto area.

JDelmore, there is something strange about the listing for Damon Groves (303-775-7916)for Toronto. 303 area code is Colorado.

Unless this is a made for Japan Kawai, grey market (I haven't actually seen one), it seems to me it should still be under warranty. Anyway, the Kawai dealer may be good source for a qualified tech. A qualified tech who speaks French might help...Oui?

Meh...that's what it said at the PTG site...

The cell phone I use for business has an 865 area code, and I'm nowhere near Knoxville...
