I have a customer who asked me to check the D3 string as, to her, it sounded "tinny", to me it sounded a little "bright". The rest of the piano sounds rather mellow, in tone quality, not at all "twangy". The piano is a Yamaha spinet Model M1A and is approximately 25 years old. I last tuned it on 28 Dec 2004.

Any thoughts or suggestions relative to this problem would be helpful.

Reshape the hammer; needle it if required.
