Hehehe... I didn't know what it meant either David! I was waiting to see if someone else asked FOR ME! Thanks! Who the heck wants to talk about pianos all the time anyway? Today, driving home, (we have a huge weather ball that changes colors according to temp and precipitation) the weather ball was RED which means, "warmer weather ahead!!" YES! It's probably lying...

It sure did! Hardly any snow left. Especially in light of the fact that it has been raining like mad here all day long. Most of the snow is now gone!

Man, what a crappy night. I had a gig in Muskegon with organissimo (my jazz trio) and afterwards we went to get a bite to eat at a local restaurant. When we went inside at 11pm, there were just a few flakes coming down. When we came out an hour later, there was at least four inches of snow on the ground.
The drive home was miserable. It's normally 90 minutes to Lansing from Muskegon, but it took us almost 2 1/2 hours to get back. UGH.
Gotta love Michigan.

LOL!! Someone once said something like 'To lose one parent may be only carelessness, but to lose both certainly seems to be negligence' (maybe Oscar Wilde?). I'm gonna paraphrase and say that 'To be born in snowy realms may be careless, but to stay is surely negligent..."

Well, David, those are very good points indeed. No bugs, no snakes, no bats, no June bugs and other icky creatures. No arguments from me on that! I can't say as if it keeps the idiot's off from the roads in Michigan though. Seems like, the worse the weather becomes, the more they seem to want to go out shopping clogging up the roads more than ever. It's almost as if "oh no! We have to go out and get something in case it gets worse!" Like, we shouldn't go but, we're going to anyway because we shouldn't. Dummies. It's still snowing here. Muskegon is on the Lake Michigan Shoreline and almost always gets twice as much snow as Grand Rapids. We only received about 2" or so, last night. As for staying? Maybe we're glutton's (or stupid) but, it's awfully difficult to leave after all of these years of building up a business only to have to start over again. Yuck. While tempting to cut out and go where it's warmer, staying is, easier. Lazier too!

The thing is, if it gets too warm and humid you can go sit by the pool with a long cool one in hand. Heck, you can do it even if it isn't too warm and humid. Most condos have pools, and there are about 24 public pools.

It sure seems cold up north, here in CT we get a little 20's action once in a while, but the ieiots cant drive on dry pavement let alone a little snow, so it's stay home time Lucky for me I have four fireplaces and three grand pianos made with lots of wood, if it gets too cold. I also have 6 cords of seasoned oak just in case I can't get the pianos lit...lol (just a little warning to my pianos to stay in tune longer or else)... Wouldn't miss the changing of the seasons though, does get beautiful here in New England..too bad they tax us to death..oh well enjoy what ya' got \Fred Bieler

I like both cold and warm weather. Being born in a place where weather would change from day to day, you kind of learn to ignore it. In my region, you had to walk with sunglasses in one hand, and an umbrella in the other so to say. And in the winter time, I once went to an even colder place. The kind of place where spit went 'clunk'. For a kid, that meant unlocking new possiblities and endless hours of fun.
