[quote=Diane...]A CAT in a costume! Now that is rare! I'm thinking that the owner of that cat wore chain mail to get kitty into the costume. Think this is a cat in a bee costume. But some things you just shouldn't do to a cat! And this is one of 'em! I'm thinking this is more the WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST!!!

I really can't remember a colder summer and fall in years, and Diane has snow in her area. I'm already seeing early winter pitch drop in most of the pianos I'm tuning. Brrrr! 'Time for some hot mulled cider.

I don't think I dare make a comment on the "CHICK" peas..... Better let Howie take that one on instead. Better to be dressed "sharp." I certainly don't think she's um, well, I'd better behave myself....

Hey Howie, do you think, by chance that David is buying this round? Not only buying it, I'm making it. I have a cider press and a whole lot of apple trees on this acreage. 'Been pressing a lot of it and coping with freezing fingers and really cold apples. The cider is sure cold though. 'Can't ever remember outside water hoses freezing in Oct. We could use a little of that alleged "Global Warming" here. You guys might like the cider a little fizzy.

Apple cider is good just about anyway you can get it... It used to be the only drink around in the early days of the Americas. Cheers and Bottoms UP!

My dad used to drink apple cider with what he called a "hot tottie" or however that is spelled? No, Diane, it is a DRINK! Not sure what's in it. Whiskey maybe? Never had one.

Hi Jer, Ok.. here's the plan (ok, recipe) for a "hot tottie": * 3/4 cup black tea * shot of whiskey * squirt of lemon * teaspoon of honey * cinnamon stick The tea, lemon, honey and cinnamon are optional. You can't leave out the Whiskey!

'Time for some hot mulled cider. Here in the UK, we're still in end-of summer mode. Last year, it snowed at the beginning of November, this year, it's still up to 16-19°C. It's quite pleasant in the sunshine, which is unusual for us, even in the middle of summer.

athomik! Okay, anyone caught bragging about having "good" weather usually gets in trouble here, BUT . . . I just read your post that you tune for some pretty famous people! Like BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN! Did I read that right? So I think it's only fair that you get the "COOL CAT" Award! Cheers! (think that's what they say over where you come from!)

I don't actually tune, I'm an electronics engineer and lately, I've been specializing in hybrid pianos (electronic player pianos and silent pianos,)which is why I'm on here - although I've worked on everything from amplifiers to keyboards to mixers. I found this site to be quite a good resource for learning about the acoustic side of pianos.
