I am looking for the book "ON PITCH". I have been to the ptg.org site but this book is no longer on their site. I have tried amazon.com and other book stores but to no avail. Please could someone help me to source this book. Thank you.

The PTG decided not to reprint it. However all of its content, save for its final chapter, was first printed as articles in the PTG Journal. Those archives are available from the PTG on a CD-ROM. You might try contacting the author, Rick Baldassin, directly. He's listed with the Guild: http://ptg.org/findATechnician-searchRPT.php I'm also shocked that it's no longer available. It's a central reference for me. --Cy--

Mark,
If you get in touch with Rick, please take a minute and let us know what he says. Enough people ask here about the book, or are interested in the material it contains, that it would be nice to know if contacting the author is a dead end.
Thanks, Jeff

Hi, I just bought a piano from Rick Baldassin yesterday and I searched his name on this forum and found this post. I was SO pleased with how he and his staff treated me. He voiced my piano twice before I even agreed to buy it and spent hours talking with me (and mine is just an upright) about how I wanted it. He really went the extra mile, and I was so shocked with what he did to my piano; it sounded so much better, I didn't even realize that was possible.
Anyway, I finished up near closing time and asked if I could play for a few minutes and he said of course, he was sticking around because he had to submit a copy of his book to the publisher. He explained that he had written a book, the last printing had sold out, and the publisher lost the printing plates, so he had to resend the whole thing to them. He also said that he is not having the PTG distribute the book this time. Since he mentioned that to me and I noticed you guys wondering, I thought I'd fill you in. I guess it should be back in print sometime soon.

Go to www.abe.com, which is American Book Exchange. That's where I found my copy, and it's a great site to find any rare/collectible/out-of-print book. Cheers, -- Don
