Cushion feeling on keytops

On a U1, i can feel a slight cushion feeling when tapping gently and while playing.

In contrast, some other piano have this hard feeling touch.

What mainly contributes to this nice cushion feeling?
- Quality Balance rail punching?
- soft white felt inserts whippen bottom felt?
- soft inserts at the hammer butt leather?
- Quality Keyfront punching?
- all the above??

If it isn't excessive lost motion your experiencing, then all of your suggestions could have this effect. I am not sure if this cushioning is universally regarded as "good" since some pianists like a crisper response on the keys. New pianos can be like this from a lack of compaction of the BR punchings and felts also.
