Hi. I lady I know is offering me a free piano. It's a Cable console. Nothing spectacular, but certainly nothing to write home about! Actually. it's better than average. Can any of the inside parts be "recycled"? I told her to hold it for a week. Could somebody please tell me what I could do with this? Maybe something creative. Please let me know SOON!! THANKS!!!!

I'm not sure I understand the question. It sounds like it may still be useable.

If not (& you DID say something creative), how about this:

which was brought up in another thread here before.

Most piano's that are givin away, usually are in need of serious repair. The tuning pin block is the most important part of the piano. If it won't hold tune it's useless.I would get a tech to check the tuning pins & while he or she is there, check out the rest of piano.

Ok. Let me clarify. A friend has this used piano. It's a Cable console. I was at her house yesterday. She said that they are getting rid of it. They had bought it for her daughter who only played a little while. She said," I think we'll have it hauled away unless somebody wants it. Do you know of anybody who wants it?" I just played a couple of scales, and the tone was even. Then I said can she hold onto it for a week. I wanted to see what you guys had to say. It's not a bad piano, it's really not. So please understand that. It's not that it's so bad that she's giving it away. They've got evough money that they can afford to give it away rather than placing an ad in the paper. I just happened to hear her say this, so I asked her to hold onto it for a week. She said "ok". It's a Cable console. Not wonderful, I know. But since you guys know more than I do, could someone please help? THANKS!!

Hey,

If you've played it some and it feels good to you, how could you go wrong with free.
