I vote for...anything but music from the PianoDisc Company's collection.
I have about 10 CDs and floppies from PianoDisc of non-classical music, and they all have disappointed me, some more than others. The reason has everything to do with the artists they select, I think, because the music is technically well-done and works perfectly on my piano. As a group, the PianoDisc artists are schmoozy lounge players (How's THAT as a broad generalization!). The flowery style is something I've never really gone for.
My preference is for straightforward, yet well-interpretted piano playing. Part of this, I am sure, is that I'm a life-long Lutheran, and I just love church music whether by organ or piano. Lutherans tend to play the notes, the whole notes, and nothing but the notes, so help them God.
So to my vote: My favorite PianoDisc piece is a version of Amazing Grace that I downloaded from the internet. I just love that song. At its best, it brings tears to my eyes because....well, because God's grace IS amazing.
