Hello all

Ive have just joined this site to learn what i can.I have a Laffargue Pianola (just purchased) and never had a pianola before. The one i have is not in working condition at present , but i plan on doing bits myself as a hobby. After reading a few articals , they have said that the Laffargue is not a very good piano/pianola.Are they that much worse off then others?.Also im keen on reading and searching this site to see if i can get the old girl running again.
Regards Dan , a beginner and a tryer \:\)

It was a pretty good make of piano, and Pianola (that is the brand name that the Aeolian company used) was one of the better player mechanisms. However, it is a lot of work to get one of these things working properly. You need to restore the piano properly, as well as restoring the player mechanism.

Pianolas were pretty straight-forward mechanisms to restore, so they are good to start on, but it is a long and tedious job. The Reblitz book is worth getting.
