Hey Guys,
I just bought a Yamaha C2 Disklavier Mark 4, it was from an old couple they bought new in 2006, they played it a few times but the wife said it was a 'bit too loud' for her. (what a pity) So they closed it up and put it in a corner. Anyway they sold it too me last month ;-)
So I pretty much have a brand new instrument with the latest tech (it even connects to the internet lol) but I can't find any information at all EXCEPT the same marketing sales, press release crap.
I have a strong background with computers and general hardware etc etc, But I leave the piano part ofcorse to my professional tuner etc.
So I wanted to know if anyone else can answer a few questions for me..
1) How tough are the solidnoids these days, ie if I play lots of ragtime and heavy songs, is that going to start causing problems? I generally keep the veolicity down so they are not 'hitting' anymore loud then myself playing.
2) The current software is the latest from Yamaha 2.10 it's pretty good, but it lacks the features of 'VERSION 3' that's talked about in press releases.. it also has some little bugs when copying/moving files.. (I can expand more later) but anyway version 3 is not realesed yet

. Does anyone have the ISO?
3) Finally, how often does one calebrate the sensors/keys etc? Apparantly this is in the 'service manual' that I have ordered and there are hidden menus etc but is it something that makes much of a difference? and or something you do every 10 years? just wondering thats all.
I called Yamaha aksing these humble questions, and a few little other things.. the guy who was the 'apparant expert' in Australia was a real A** Hol* and pretty much said '..if there is no problem with anything then don't worry yourself about anything.. go enjoy it..' He treated me like a noob trying to install a sound card.. Very dissapointed in his whole additude for his $40,000 product!
Cheers,
Philip
