Hi!

I want to buy a home piano for my 6 yo daughter which is taking piano lessons. She started last year. I would like to buy a piano for next 4-6 years and them by a good one (CLP 340 - 1.400 € - / Roland HP 203 - 1.600 € - / etc).

I’ve read a lot this forum, visit a shop and talked with some people. And taking into account this I’m considering 3 possibilities:
- Yamaha S-30 - 730 €
- Yamaha YDP 140 (in Spain YDP 160 is not available) - 900 €
- Yamaha P-85 - 600 ....820 € with stand and three-pedal pedal unit.

Unfortunately I do not play piano thus it is difficult for me to make any comparison. I just saw the seller playing them but I didn't see any diference.

I have not found any post comparing this three models. Why? Are they so different?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

they are pretty much the same with the same GHS action, but YDP140 is the best of the 3 with 3-level dynamic sampling while the other 2 have 1-level.

P85 is almost like YDP-S30 (minus stand & pedals), but a little better on its half pedal function which is continuous rather than 3-step one as on YDP-S30, plus a little more voices as well.

if you cannot buy a much better CLP340 now, i would suggest you buy YDP140, which is at least the better one with standard pedals, would be good for your kid practicing and taking lessons.
