Any suggestions for a reasonably priced good stand for a digital piano? I've seen a couple of X shaped sort of stands. I saw someone mention a Z stand. Not sure what that is.
Also, is there a "standard" height for the keyboard? This is for my kids and I want it to be comparable to the acoustic piano they will be learning on at their lessons.

What yamaha keyboard is it? My p250 was much too tall for a generic size x stand, so I had to cut another notch in the stand to lower it. Other yamaha keyboards like the p90, p60, p120 will probably be a good height with most stands.

I searched around the net a while back and discovered that most people answering the "standard height for a piano" question said around 28.5 inches. However, lots also said that the height from the bench to the top of the keys is more important. Google groups has a bunch of posts on this.

I use the Quik-Lok WS-550 for the P250
It's not an x stand, but it's very stable. I have it one notch up, which is a bit high, but my stool's a bit tall. On the lowest notch should be fine.

The Yamaha YKA7000 puts the keys at the correct height (for P-series pianos) when in its lowest position. It sells for $59 but is included free of charge when purchasing a keyboard from some retailers. This is what I have. If I was at home I would measure this height and my "real" piano key height for you.

I have an X stand that puts my Casio keyboard about 2 - 3 inches too high in the lowest notch.

I use an adjustable office chair set up a little higher to compensate, but a lower stand would be better.

I too am having problems with attaining the best position for my P80 stage piano.
I also have a Quik lok X type stand which puts my piano keys to 31" high, far too high when the standard height should be 28.5"
I have to have my stool 24" to be at a comfortable position.

I am looking for a stand set at 25" high.If there is one I would like to know?

Regards
Daz

FWIW, I bought a P90 that came with a free X stand, a Backline BLKSD003 double braced stand, $49 regularly for the stand (www.musiciansbuy.com)

I have it set to a notch at 23.75 inches, and with the P90 on it, the key tops are about 4 inches higher (near 27.75 inches from the floor). The stand has one notch lower, about 18.5 inches, and a few taller notches, next one at 29.5 inches. The stand seems fine to me, it just sits there.
