All i want is the the best digital piano sound and most realistic you can buy.
Would I be looking at maybe the P250 stage piano or a top of the range Clp or a Hp something.
The key feel would have to be the second thing I will consider.

Daz

I've always wondered how much that instrument costs. Essentially, it uses a special version of GigaStudio and it's bundled with a sequencer and other extras... it even implements a soft pedal and sostenuto pedal, something that Giga libraries don't include.

i wonder if anyone actually has played such a piano and how good it actually is?

back to the question, if you don't care about the look, P250 is good enough (as equivalent to CLP150/PF500 except for its padel). if you want the best, CLP170 is the one to go.

How does the new Roland Hp107 compare with the Clp170.
When I played the Clp170 in the store I Found it to easy to play at full volume range,I tried the dynamics by playing very softly and then gradually increasing to very loud.eg.Pianoissimo to fortissimo.I went away feeling very dissapointed.
I thought I may consider a Roland. The salesman did actually admitt that Roland Has a much better dynamic range, but I dont always listen to the sales men.
What do you think?

Daz

dissappointed with CLP170? you know, CLP170 has a feature called 'iAFC' which could affect the sound it produced depending on where it locates. see here for more information:

Get the one you really like playing.
Forget this and that features. You may or may not be happy with such gimmicks.
I prefer home digital pianos for home use.
Stage pianos looks awkward in living room unless you live in a studio apartment.

I have noticed with stage pianos, well the Yamaha line anyway, that the piano sound is a bit brighter than on home pianos. This is so that the sound can 'cut through the mix' or project itself better on stage.
