I just ordered a Yamaha GranTouch from Japan (ETA in about 4-6 months). In the meantime, I would like to begin shopping for a set of good headphones.

I read the Apr 2002 thread on this forum about headphone recommendations and have also been on the rec.music.makers.piano newsgroup, but I have a few more questions:

1. Do cordless headphones sound worse than corded headphones?

2. What are some good cordless headphones (any price okay)?

3. If money were no object, what is the ultimate set of headphones (either cordless/corded) one can buy?

I'd be grateful for any opinions/suggestions. Thanks.

I thought the GT comes with a set of headphones, Yamaha HPE 170 that is, no?

Sorry, I have no recommendations for other headphones as the HPE 170 are the ones I'm using.
I'm using them with a P80 and they are ok in my opinion. But I'm certainly not an expert.

Nici, thanks for your feedback. The headphones are optional in the case of my GT, but I do get a piano bench! Maybe I should hustle for a free set of headphones, considering the amount of money I'm spending!
