I bought the cables that go from the midi out of my pc (soundblaster) to my Roland Piano. There are 2 midi connectors from the cable the guy sold me but only one midi inout on the piano. Why are there 2?
Also, the piano has settings near the midi input, such as pc1, pc2, midi. What should I set the piano on to enable it to talk to the pc?

I'm not sure about the cable you have. Sounds like it's really two separate MIDI cables "bundled" together. MIDI cables are non-directional so you can't really go wrong. I'm not completely sure I understand your specific situation, but here's how it's typically done:

Roland MIDI OUT connects to MIDI IN on the soundblaster
Roland MIDI IN connects to MIDI OUT on the soundblaster

I'd imagine your keyboard should be set to "MIDI". Not sure what the other selections are for. What keyboard do you have?

Hope that helps.

Here's how my connection looks.

One end of the midicable connects to the joystick port on the soundcard in the PC. That's the only connection on that end of the cable.

On the other end of the midicable there's two, round, din-connections. One goes to the midi-out connection on the piano, the other goes to the midi-in connection on the piano.
I also have a midi-through connection on the piano. In other words, three midi-connections on the piano.

I have never heard of only one connection on the piano. But i guess you must use the "midi-out" connection on the cable to get this working.
If the cable isn't marked, you'll just have to try both.

The piano sends midi-data to the PC through the midi-out port, and it recieves midi-data from the PC (enabling you to listen to it on the Piano, even when you have it connected to the PC) through the midi-in port.
The midi-through port is used when you have more than one midi-hardware connected.

To help you out more i need to know: Is the midi-cable like the one i described? Or is it USB?
What software do you use in the PC?
