Costco quotes me $4,499, including bench. Home delivery and set up is $85 option.

The HPi-7LE (similar to HPi-7 but with external VGA output and better sound system) is $4,999. But it's not in stock and they will have to order it.

I ended up with the KR-107 for $5,999, including bench, a floppy drive (built-in in the HPi series), and a 128MB memory stick.

All these prices are for satin finishes. Add $1000 for polished finishes.

I know it was October 2005, but I should have made it clearer.

It was not Costco as a chain, but this was part of the "Piano Drive" deal in which Costco stores in a region (in this case, San Francisco, Santa Clara, San Mateo, and Alameda counties) contracted with local music stores. The stores displayed and demo'ed the pianos at Costco locations (rotating weekly). The prices were supposed to be lower than those at the music stores because Costco would pay for any warranty work.

I paid to Costco, but picked up my KR-107 at the piano store, not at Costco.

Ah, I see. I remember seeing staffed piano events but never paid attention at the time to what was going on.
