Hi, this is my first topic in pianoworld, so thanks a lot to all the users who wants to hel me.

I used to play piano a long time ago, til I was 16; then I stopped playing. Now I'm 26, and for my birthday (april) I want to start another time.
I want to buy an electrical piano... I'm Italian. The budget is 1000 euros, and I've found this models:
Yamaha clp 230 new, at 1100 euros (2 years warranty)
Yamaha clp 175 used at 1200 euros (with 1 year warranty)
kawai cn-31 new at 950 euros (2 years warranty)
kawai ca-1000 used at 1350 euros (1 year warranty).

I wonder what is the best buy from this ones... What do you think about?

Thanks

i am too looking for one(maybe clp280)and my guess is that your answer is going to be to try them out for yourself and see what you like as far as sound and feel combinations.

these are personal choices opinions only you can make. one mans trash is another mans treasure. lol.

Digital pianos are essentially computers,
and they thus follow computer-like pricing
when used, that is, they lose value fast,
like used computers. So the used ones
are much too expensive, more than double
what they should be selling for.

The prices for the new ones look pretty
good though. The best buy out of the four
looks like the Kawai cn-31, the least
expensive of the group. This has 96
polyphony and yet sells for less than the
CLP-230 with 64 poly.

I agree with Gyro, don't touch the used ones, far too expensive.

Go with new. The best approach if you can is to try them both out and pick the one you like the sound and feel of best.

CLP175, although older model, is a top end CLP in CLP100 series, while CLP230 is just barely above entry model of CLP200 series. between these 2, i'd choose CLP175 any time.

The CLP175 was launched in 2003. In digital terms that makes it a dinosaur. I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole, especially for 1200 euros.

The CLP 200 series is also getting on a bit so it would be worth checking out some other options vs exactly what you want from a digital piano.

Thanks to all!
well, I would to reply to Glaswegian... I agree with you, technlology implementation is too faster, but between the two yamaha models, remember that clp172 has some effects and some options availables on the clp270/280, that aren't on clp230... for example iAFC. moreover, the wood keyboard...

I'm following this two types for the differences between them.

I think I'll choose between cn-31 and clp 230...

Thanks for the replies!

If you can step it up a notch. I would recommend looking at the CN-41 and CLP-240.

I didn't efford them... I bought clp 230. I made this choice because I felt yamaha plastic keyboard better than the kaway one. The most similar to an acoustic piano keyboard was the ca51 one, but at 1370euro it was impossible to buy for me.

Thanks a lot guys, I'll follow this forum the next month, I wish I can improve my piano skills with him.

Thank you!!!
