I know that most Yamaha dealers will take your instrument back at full price applied towards an upgrade, but is this only if the first instrument is an acoustic piano and not a clavinova?

My dealer told me it only applies from one acoustic to another, not digital to acoustic. Yet, I've read posts here where dealers take back the digitals. What's the standard and am I getting a bum deal?
