#663515 - 08/06/08 01:48 PM Korg Concert A-151 Digital Piano-anyone knows?

Hello,
I have been looking for a piano or keyboard with weighted keys and just saw a Korg Concert A-151 Digital Piano on Craiglist for $450. I did some research online but could find no info on this model and wonder if it's very old? Also, is $450 a fair price for an older keyboard (considering that probably has no warranty on it anymore)?

Thanks for your help.
Lola

Hi Lola1,

There is really nothing to find on the net about a KORG A-151 not even on the website of KORG.

So be very cartefull with this, compare with others and try before you buy!

I have a 10 year old KORG Concert A-151 and it plays great! I haven't had a single issue with it and have been incredibly happy with it. $450 sounds like a great deal!

There was one offered for $549 back in February on ebay. However, it is not clear to me whether the piano was actually sold, or how much it changed hands for.

Apart from that, there is very little information about this model. It is obviously very old in terms of digital pianos. It may be OK, but I'd feel safer with a new Casio for around the same price, or a little more. They are generally highly rated, especially in the sub-$1000 range.

For a simple enquiry about a second hand piano with no detail, information or discussion, this thread has had a remarkable number of visitors: two thousand, two hundred and twenty-two.... some things are just wonderfully inexplicable.

Two of those visits are mine. I read your post toddy and thought there's no way that many people have looked at this thread. So I came out of it to check. Now I'm even posting in it although I have nothing useful to say about the actual topic!

It did occur to me that Tony82 could be the vendor though!

This occurred to me too! But if he is, he is a very cool operator indeed, having lain low for seven whole years before making his opening gambit. This is not so much a matter of who blinks first in the negotioation as whether both parties will still be with us by its completion.

I heard negotiations are tracking well and a settlement is expected to be reached in the 3rd quarter of 2027.

By which time maybe Dewster will finally be pleased with the 'state of the art'!

I earnestly hope that this will be the case, but it won't be thanks to the Korg Concert A-151 if it does happen.

After a little bit of snooping around, it transpires that the person asking here about the second hand Korg has started & participated in just one other thread which is also a question about a prospective second hand piano. In this case, a Daytron upright.

Amazingly, this simple enquiry has garnered 4399 visits! The plot thickens, but I have an inkling that it may have something to do with having the name Lola. I must try it sometime.

We have passed the 3000 hits mark! This is a triumph for a thread containing almost no information at all about a little-known and long discontinued Korg digital piano.

My contribution to the celebrations is this picture of the item in question.

Well done toddy, good find. So it would appear the actual piano looks about as original and inspiring as its name implies, i.e., not very. Given its age I honestly consider something like that to be completely worthless, like an old CRT tv. Why would you?!

With a thread this exciting I confidently predict 5000+ views soon!

Yes. It's a smouldering slow burning beauty, but beauty none the less.
