#664971 - 05/16/02 04:49 PM Experience with Yamaha GranTouch or Seiler EliteTrainer?

I have been lurking here for a while and have found that there are a lot of knowledgeable and helpful people here \:\)

I own a Schimmel 6' grand but because I live in an apartment and can only practice at night, I am looking to buy a digital piano.

I am an advanced pianist with about 28 years of playing experience. My main consideration in choosing a digital piano is that the touch should be as close to an acoustic piano as possible. The rest of the features, especially the different types of sound, are secondary. Price is also not a major issue.

I have looked at most of the major manufactuerer's websites and found that the Yamaha GranTouch and the Seiler EliteTrainer claim to incorporate true grand-piano action.

I would like to know if anyone has any experience with either pianos, especially the Seiler, since my local agent does not carry the EliteTrainer in the showroom.

Thanks very much for any advice.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I do not want to buy an upright Silent piano because of aesthetics, since my digital piano would be sitting smack in the middle of a room.

Here is the answer to your question Yamaha vs Seiler very easy Seiler is not a typical comercial piano they make pianos with quality as the first concern, I played both several times and the Seiler is so much better, unfortunatly sometimes we buy things because we know the brand (Yamaha) but we don't know the inside of the product. I am a concert pianist and piano technician trust me. By the way if you want to buy the Seiler or the Yamaha I worked for both so I can get you a good deal. Write me at erkmenbh@hotmail.com

RICKMANINOF,

Why, specifically, do you consider the Seiler better than the Yamaha?
