To all of the digital piano owners: I am making a deal with one dealer here in Pennsylvania to purchase a Yamaha CLP240. Since I want to trade in my Chikering acoustic piano (more than 20 year old. It is still in good shape but the sound the pedal do not work well, the dealer gave me $500 for the trade-in and asked for $2900 (2895 actually) for the clp240. With tax and delivery fee, it totals $2600.
1. Is the deal okayed? $2900 for the CLP240 seems high but I know the dealer needs to jack up the price since he will get stuck with the trade in.
2. I just feel like they get my old acoustic piano for nothing but i can not keep two of them. So if i want the clp240 then i have to bite the bullet.
3. I also have other option like keeping the old one as a piece of furniture and either buying the Yamaha P140 or Roland FP. If i do this way, i know i will never play the old one again.
4. From reading the posts here, i understand the the CLP3xx will come out soon in June. I can wait but the only problem here because i want to get rid of my old one. Since doing that the dealer for sure will jack up his price again.
So, Is $2600 deal doable???
Thanks!!!

Thanks Signa. Last Sunday, the dealer got a sales and when I asked him he did knock the price down to around 2500, but it before the trade-in. I believe because he has to be stucj with the trade-in, he jacked up the price again to 2900 to make up for the difference.
Unless i can sell the old piano on my own, then i can bargain with him again, but selling the old one is not an easy task.
I may just keep the old one as a nice piece of furniture in the living room and just buy the P140 or Roland fp4.
Thanks again!
