IMO the CVP309 and the CVP309GP are the tops in their class.

Hello,
Kawai has the DP1 which is so innovative in sound creation, maybe a bit too much, but I heard great things about it and is a really new model. The samples are huge, it uses a hard disk drive to store them and linux to manage it all. The thing's worth a look, sure.
The CVP-400 series has been released and the CVP-300 are being discontinued little by little. No CVP-409GP yet, but the CVP-409 is a fine improvement in sounds and functions over the CVP-309.
The CLP-295GP is a CLP-280 in a baby grand cabinet. Better speakers is all you'll get. But if you want an arranger piano with 16 tracks recorder, score display.... you'd prefer the CVP line. CLPs are for great piano performance with 1 or 2 instrument accompaniment, more traditional approach and piano look-alike.
About the Rolands I can not tell much, but I have the impression that they're worth the test, technologically are maybe the best. Yamaha maybe beat them in piano reproduction due to their tradition with them. Roland's KR-115 are even better than the RG3 according to their specs. it's all about budget also, of course.
Best,
Andrés.

Does anyone know how long a Roland KR 107 digital arranger piano will last? How many years? Also, does Roland have another, similar to KR 107 coming out within the next year or sooner?
I have been quoted three different prices for the KR 107 (9000, 7000, 6195)
I have been quoted, for the Yamaha CVP 307, (9000, 7500, 6495,)
I really want to know what the life expectency is of a digital piano, especially the KR 107.
Since it came out in 2005, I am wondering if I should wait another year to see what is next?
Hoping to have my questions answered by you guys. This post is from Canada.
Thanks in advance,
ABL

3850 EUR is a nice price for a new 307. I'm trying to find a 307 myself, but have only seen it for 6500+ USD (unless it's used).

the CLP295 in in the solo piano family (No drums and rhythm.) CLP295G is in a grand piano shaped cabinet and is a grand shaped CLP280. Your original questions were about CVP ensembles with all the bells and whistles.

Have you looked at the Kawai CP177D which I was told was similar to the CVP307? This is Kawai's consol version - they do have a GP version, but I'm not sure what the model number is. I haven't tried the Yamaha (I'll have to wait until Friday... ) However, I was quite impressed with the Kawai - both touch and sound. Seemed to have all of the electronic 'bells and whistles' that I was looking for in a very attractive package. Just my 2 cents...
