Dear All,

I plan to buy a 88-keys digital piano and cannot figure out what are main difference between Yamaha P-series and CLP-series in terms of touch & feel, and the sound quality. Which model is more suitable for new learner to use?

Have a nice day,
Derek.

Derek,

The P series is a stage piano(lightweight & portable), while the Clavinova CLP series are meant more for home use(furniture cabinet, built in pedals, bigger speakers etc.). I recently tried a P120, and was very impressed with the Grand, Rhodes electric piano, Clav & String samples.

I think you need to think about where you are going to use this piano in determining which of these models is right for you.

You should look at other makers, too, like Kawai, Technics, Roland and Korg.

Jamie
