Hello; my 8 years son needs a piano and researching the ones that likes me and can buy online are:

Privia 800
ROLAND DP-970

Some advise?

Sorry for my laconic post but English is not my language.

I'm not sure where you are located but in the UK the Roland DP-970 is more than double the price of the Privia PX800. PX800 = £500, DP-970 = £1100. The question should be, is the DP-970 worth the extra money?...I don't think so. If you check the specifications of both pianos you will see you get a lot more for your money with the PX-800.

Yes, this is the poit; the roland cost near the double, but using cars analogy, is fair compare an BMW with a Renault more equiped?

I want know If the Roland Is more near to an acoustical piano than the casio. I have a tight space and those seems the most "cutes" compact pianos.

The Casio seens the Ideal choice at the right price but I've read some complains about the hard touch In this forum.

I have learned with a Seiler upright. I want the near DP to the Seiler, but must be compact.

I live in a small town and cannot try the Roland or the Casio.

Thank you. It's very hard to me explain myself In English. Sorry for the errors.

Hi Chichopf,

why don't you consider the HP203 instead of the DP-970. It has the latest Roland technology and as far as I know is more advanced than the DP-970. I like the sound and the feeling of the HP203 very much (haven't tested the DP-970 though). The HP203 costs about the same as the DP-970 and has some extras (PHA-II keyboard witrh escapement, 128 polyphonie, GM sounds,30 Watt, etc ) that the DP-970 lacks.

Hello Trolls99; Thanks for your advise.

HP203 seems a bit bulky compared to 970; moreover the WAF (wive acceptance factor) counts and the 970 Is really compact and cute.

I'll buy the casio at Thomann; seems the logical choice cost-performance.

Thanks at all.

The Roland it's now at 1265 Euros (formerly 1690 Euros); Casio px800 888. The Roland it's for me now.
