Anyone have this? I have an old Technics digital piano which i use through midi to my PC. But the Technics pianosamples and the samples in the PC aren't the best really. I've been looking a bit on soundfonts but this sounds interesting. They have some MP3s you can listen to at this page: http://www.steinberg.net/docloader_sb.as...ID=2&loc=doc238 Sound pretty good to me, but maybe there are even better alternatives?

Sampled piano sounds are very subjective. That said, do a search on "piano" in http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=16 and you'll learn as much as you want to know about soft samplers and sample players (which is what The Grand is). With a software package like GigaStudio or Kontakt you'll have a much wider choice of sample libraries. In general, there appear to be better samples than The Grand (a Kawai). I don't have it, but do have a fairly large library of other pianos, including a couple of Steinways, Bosendorfers, Malmsjo, etc.

The Grand is in my opinion the best digital sampled piano available. It demands however lots of memory and cpu power. What makes it better than the other sample libraries is that it is simply not just a sample library. It has lots of settings to tweak your piano sound, and piano touch, to your taste. It also has a unique impressing pedal resonance feature. The piano sound and touch is very delicate for my own music. Although it could have an even better sample range, it is good enough for me.
