Hi, I've recently decided I'm going to order the Yamaha P90 piano.

I was wondering if anyone here could recommend whether to use an amp or say... pc speakers? It's going to be on a budget really so I'd like to get the best possible sound without breaking the bank. Any recommendations? (perhaps from others who already have the P90?)

I'd also really appreciate any recommendations on headphones too, since I've found the sound changes dramatically when you play through headphones and since I do a lot of silent practice I want the best sound I can get.

Thanks in advance!

Jen

I have a p80 wired to my computer's soundcard with midi cables. The computer is attached to my stereo amplifier. I did a lot of research on headphones and ended up with Grado SR60's.
I hope this helps.
Mike

I have a P80 and I'm pretty close to getting an Alesis Sumo 100. Seems like great sound for the money. Roland tends to be the other popular choice (the Cube 60 or KC 150.) I've also used Motion Sound. The 100s is fantastic, though a little pricey.

I use KRK studio monitors (10" woofer) with my P-90. The P-90 sounds best through good headphones - look for headphones that reproduce down to 20 hertz - The lowest bass note on a piano is about 25 hertz.

Bob,
How would Sony 7506 Headphones work with the P90?

Regards, Matt.

I use my computer's Klipsch 2.1 speakers and it sounds just fine. They have an aux input that I connect my keyboard to.
