Hi George,

Fazioli - I love it laugh Try the videos and audio files at

http://www.generalmusic.us/prp800.htm
http://www.generalmusic.us/promega3.htm

(the RP-X has the same engine as the Promega with slightly improved sounds)

Explicit RP-X samples are to be found at http://www.gem-lem.de/ (scroll down)

I am also a GEM RP-X fan. I am finding I use both Steinway and the Fazioli samples quite a lot.

what is this about a firmware patch?

I have a Gem Promega 2 and I love the sound and feel, it is a bit bulky to be carrying around though, thats the only negative :-/

I bought a GEM pRP800, a 44 pound stage piano (with small speakers and internal amp for practice and such) but has the 9'-Steinway and 10'-Fazioli embedded with the real-time modeling technologies.

No, it's not the same as my 6'-3" Steinway, but the sound characteristics and behavior of the Grand Piano tones are astoundingly close, especially when hooked to a pair of active monitors. Action has a fairly "solid feel" and response.

You can get that "real piano" sound without an extra software package that needs to be routed thru a computer.

A nice package for about $1000.
