Hi,

I am considering to buy a new Yamaha digital piano and now I am trying to make a decision. I would need some help here...

I am living in Finland/Helsinki and checked the local music shops. They have the CLP-340 and now on sale the CLP-270 in about the same price range (Actually the CLP-370 is also there but I am not interested about the NW).

Originally I was about to buy the newer 340 model but when I have checked again I just realized that the music sheet holder is just not in the right place (at least for me...). Somebody who have this model could you tell me please do you have any difficulties to reach some of the control buttons because of the sheet holder? Did you experience any similar feel that I had? (maybe it is just me)

Anyway because of the sheet holder problem I have started to look for other models and that's how the 270 came into the picture.

I like that it has more memory to record because my family would use it too and the 3 times 2 tracks on the 340 sounds not much considering that 3 person would practice on it.

On the other hand I don't know how much use would be some of the new features like the internet connection? Can someone explain to me how useful is that? In the shop there was no possibility to try it out at all and the shop assistant did not have any knowledge about it.

Any comment is appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
Visi

270 has iAFC and string resonance function (only on 380 now), while 370 and below models don't have them. this could be something you want to take into consideration.

Hi Visi,

Are you sure the key cover on that 340 was opened all the way? Because the sheet holder is well away from the control panel. There's a space of about 10cm (4 inches) between the two. So unless you've got *really big* hands...

About the memory, you can use a usb-stick on the 340 and thus save all the tracks you want. Maybe use 3 different ones so everybody's got his/her own.

I wrote something about internet connection in another post. Might be useful?

grtz,

Rudy
