The above two companies have been recommended to me, but I'd like to get some other opinions. I'm looking for a digital piano as a surprise gift for my jazz-playing 22 year old son. So I can't ask him what he would like! He's an accomplished pianist and really wants an acoustic baby-grand when he saves enough money (someday). In the meantime, I think he's most interested in the feel and sound of the instrument and is most likely looking for something that sounds like a baby grand. We don't want to go over $1000, unless there is a good reason to spend 1500 for the Korg SP500, or some other. I'd appreciate any advice you can offer! It's a touch above your price range, but check out the Roland RD700 as well.
