Hi,
My plan of buying a stage piano on ebay fall through.

Ok, I have up to $1500 to spend and would like someone to recommend me a good stage piano with good weighted key action as well as good sound.

Thanks,
Anthony

Well, how about the Roland FP-4. See the review by Agent in the topic "Roland FP-4 & FP-7 Digital Pianos"

Anthony, Do you mean $1500 for just the stage piano or for both the piano and amplification? Does the piano need to have internal speakers?

Marc

larraby,
Thanks for the suggestion.

MarcM,
$1500 for just the stage piano. No internal speaker required.

Thanks,
Anthony

have you checked Yamaha P140? it costs also little less than $1500.

Antmay, I am also looking at keyboards. The Yamaha CP33 has very good reviews and it is well within the price range. I played one, liked it very much, but am not sold on it yet. You should also try a Kawai mp4, another excellent choice. I played a similar model, I think it was called the es4. Again very, very nice. Many of us are waiting to try the new offering in the under $1500 class, the Roland FP-4. It has many excellent features, and could be my choice. If I am not inspired by any of the 1500 dollar keyboards, I may have to go with the 2000 dollar yamaha s90 es, Kawai MP8, or Roland RD700 SX. Or I may look at a used keyboard with a software piano such as Ivory. This would mean buying a new computer for me. I am leaning right now towards the s90 es. With this board they don't try to imitate a piano action. They just try to make the fully weighted action feel really comfortable and responsive. I am new at all of this, but since few of the experts have commented, I figured I might as well share my opinions.

Thanks MarcM for your suggestion.
$1500 is kind of tough, not enough for the good one.
If only I can afford more.

Thanks again for all comments

If you want a stage piano you should also try the RD300SX. The action is light (a lot of people don't like it for this reason) but this makes for a keyboard that is easy to carry (about 15Kgs). The weight can be important if you are always carrying it to gigs. The sound is not bad either.

Too bad you can not stretch the budget a tad, but it is what it is.
To MarcM's point, the Yamaha's S90es and Roland's RD700sx are both awesome.
I researched both a great deal before settling on the S90es.

Hi Chiemu/Antmay - I have the FP-7, and use it almost exclusively for the piano. I love it, and it fits well within your budget of $1500 and not only has great sound, but a fantastic action as well.
Don't think that you can't get a good keyboard for $1500. I'd say you can get a great keyboard, as well as a stand and maybe even an alright pair of headphones, all for under $1500.

Justin

I agree with montanajustin, I just came back from my favourite music shop where I played the Roland FP-7, let me say that it is an awesome digital piano! Great sounds and great action, you can't go wrong with it.
