Hello to all! i'm new here and to the piano in general , i was thinking to buy a digital piano to learn/practice and finally made it happen i saw/listen (and read forums) a number of digital pianos all on the internet and the max i was going to pay was 750euro so i was between yamaha p70,m-audio prokeys88,casio privia 110 and px 200,gem PRP-800. At the end i was between casio px 200 and gem and i decided to order the GEM PRP-800 ,i'm waiting to arrive and i hope i made a good choice cause i want to keep it for years (anyone who has it knows if the usb port works as midi connection with pc? and if is really better than the casio px-200?)

i choose gem because i really like the steinway sound and i don't want to have it connected always with my pc to hear steinberg the grand2

noone has the gem and knows if there is a usb midi driver for it and if we can update the software? thank you.

Hello,

Yes there is a USB driver for the pRP800 that can be used in place of the standard MIDI interface when connecting to a computer. This port can be used when using the pRP800 in conjunction with a PC based sequencer program and also when updating the pRP800 operating system.

Contact the store where you purchased the instrument and they should be able to get the driver for you.

Thanks for the reply! , i will contact the shop when i get it (i hope this week will arrive), i got it from ebay (but they state that they have a real shop not only eshop) hope i'll find the drivers bye!
