Hi, new to this forum. ive just been offered a used yamaha p70 keyboard for 675$ (CAN). just wondering if this is worth it for such an old keyboard. Not sure how old it is, probably 3-4 years old. does anyone know if this is good deal?

i think, you'd be better off with a new P85, which has replaced P70 with doubled polyphony and costs $600. unless that P70 is around $300 worth, i wouldn't consider it.

really i live in canada so none of the us online stores like music123 ship over here. this is pretty much the cheapest i can get it, any ideas on proof that this p70 is not worth 600 dollars

online stores are off limit to Canada? that's not good. i wonder that if you could go to different music stores in your area to check if they have P85 on sale or anything else in your price range. another choice might be Casio PX series, like the latest models P120/320. for cheap DPs, Casio has advantage over others.

btw, that P70 is used in 3-4 years. so, it cannot be priced more than 1/2 of the original price, which is about US$700.

Casio are not "cheap", they are less expensive performance wise than their couterparts. You get more "piano" for your $$$ than from other brands (in my opinion).

But on the other hand, Casio is not in the high end product market ... yet. So you need to check if what they offer is good enough for what you are looking for and can live with.

If you consider a model like the Yamaha P70, Casio has something to offer that you should look for and check by yourself.
If this is something like the Yamaha CP300 that you need, Casio is not there yet.
