I think it is one of the best I've ever played - ever.

I actually have the luxury of having a KR-117M in my house and play it as my "personal" instrument.

I've played the KR-115 at a few of my live workshops and it is great as well. They share the same action and most of the same sounds.

I hate to sound biased, but I am... I LOVE it.

If you can, (and the one you're looking at may have it already) I would really consider getting the player piano ability (Roland calls it moving keys). It opens up the door to some incredible learning opportunities.

Thanks for your response.

If I may ask, how could learning be enhanced by moving keys?

My dealer is offering $9999 for the KR115 and 12999 for the KR115M (with moving keys), is this a fair price?

This piano is one of my favorites from the Roland product line. Sadly it is way out of my price range. I had a chance to test drive a KR115 at my local dealer and I really liked the features it had.

The escapement made the keys feel identical to the baby grands they had in their showroom. The piano samples are the same as the ones on the RD700SX which are the best that Roland has to offer (not including the SRX cards of course). The sound from the speakers were very nice as well. If money was not an issue this piano would be at the top of my list.

Sorry I can't help you with the price. I didn't even bother looking at the price tag. I just wanted to play around with it to get a feel for the action and the sounds.

Agreed, the feel/touch with the escapement is phenomenal.

I'm assuming the KR-115 has the ability to synch to video like the KR-117.

I have a brand new DVD series (of which one title is finished and the second is coming very soon...) called the 1-on-1 Series that has the ability to control the "player piano" function in synchronization with the video instruction on the DVD.

For example, as I say on the video "take a look down to your left and check out the notes I'm using for this chord," if you look down at the actual piano keyboard, the notes will go down. It's an incredible educational tool that you really need to experience to appreciate... You know the old "A pictures worth a thousand words' adage really fits because it is hard to describe in text like this.

Also, I'm no heavy sales negotiator, but the price you've mentioned seems fair to me... It's a ton of piano for the $.

Wow. Congratulations! Please let us know how you like it. It looks like you may be the first one on this board to buy this model and I'm anxious to hear your feedback after a couple of weeks of use. I'm really jealous \:\(

BTW, how does the upgrade plan work? How much will your dealer give you in trade-in after the two year mark?

I received delivery of KR 115. It is an amzing piece of instrument. It's got all features imaginable. I notice however that the keys are smaller compared with acoustic piano. Is this typical of digital pianos?

I know this is an old post -
But I'm also looking to purchase a KR115. I love the features, but the dealer quoted me over 10,000!

Does anyone have the RG-3 by Roland?

I have an RG-3, amazing piece of kit, looks stunning but very barebones gadgets and sounds compared to KR series.

However, I connect my laptop to the RG3 with USB and use software synths instead, which is even better than KR and saved me a small fortune.

RG3 is highly recommended.

Awesome Bobbo!

I did end up buying the KR115. I've been teaching on the KF-90 for five years, and the KR115 had all the same techie software plus more so I went with that one. I'm a gadget freak! HA HA

I like a lot the DigisCore feature of this piano, but the KR serie do not have the NEW PHA III keyboard and superNatural sound while the smaller RG-3F has them (but NO digiscore). So the KR look like "old" Roland now.

A shame it is not possible to have DigiScore AND PHA III keyboard and superNatural engine (except in the HPi-7f which don't have the nice look of a baby grand KR)

I know this is an old theme but it´s mine now.

I´m very interested in Roland´s Digital Grand KR115M-R, because I have got the chance
to get this wonderful expensive instrument for the half of its price. It was about 4 years ago
next to the KR117M-R Roland´s Top Piano. But there is now no opportunity to see and try
this digital grand in Austria.
Has anyone any experiences playing and listening the KR115 or maybe the older Roland RG-3M
which has the same 88-note sampled piano sound with “key-off” and resonance effects?
I know there is an up to date Yamaha CVP 509, but my heart beats for the more beautiful
Roland Grand. What about its processing quality? Is it senseless to buy it or can the sound
and touch still be compared with newer models? I know that the voices and styles are maybe
better in Yamaha´s CVP 509, but the feeling of playing a piano is more important for me.
And € 6.500,-- instead of more than € 13.000,--, this is, even when it is not newest, a good
deal, isn´t it?
Please, please help me to find my digital piano!
Many thanks for your efforts!
