I am buying a keyboard for my daughter for Christmas. There are two models for that I am considering - Yamaha DGX205 and Casio WK3000. Both are $300.

I have played both and they seem to be comparable. Any opinions??? (please) Is there anything that one can do that the other can't or is the difference strictly a question of which can do the same things better?

THANKS!

i'm not familiar with either, but Yamaha brand costs usually higher than Casio brand assuming the same functionality. i would buy Yamaha if i were you, but maybe consider some other models, such as PSR293. by the way, how many keys are there on those keyboards, 61, 76 or 88?

Thank you, Signa.

Both have 76 keys. I don't really understand the various features but the two models seem to be very similar in functionality.

76-key keyboard will be ok if your daughter never played any keyboard before. i would pick Yamaha, simply because most people like Yamaha brand better and i do too. you can get more information about DGX205 here to understand the specs better:
